This work provides an overview of the design considerations and engineering of the Deformable Mirror Demonstration Mission optical payload. The 6U CubeSat was launched on Februand deployed from the International Space Station on July 13, 2020. This work describes the instrument design drivers and CubeSat implementation, and briefly illustrates operation on orbit by comparing ground-based measurements of a displaced actuator to an on-orbit measurement using the internal laser source. In the DeMi payload, a Shack Hartmann lenslet array based wavefront sensor monitors the deformable mirror, illuminated by either an internal 636 nm laser diode or external starlight. Hence, they have the potential of improving contrast in coronagraphs on future space telescopes. Such mirrors can provide precise wavefront control with low size, weight, and power per actuator. The Deformable Mirror Demonstration Mission (DeMi) is a technology demonstration CubeSat to test a 140 actuator micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) deformable mirror in low-Earth orbit. 5Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences, Cambridge, MA, United States.4Aurora Flight Sciences, Cambridge, MA, United States.3Department of Physics, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, United States.2Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, United States.1Department of Astronomy/Steward Observatory, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, United States.Holden 2 Jennifer Gubner 2 Christian Haughwout 2 Paula do Vale Pereira 2 Yinzi Xin 2,3 John Merk 4 Kerri L. By the way, the lights turn off quite spectacularly they do not go out instantly but slowly dim, imitating a sunset. Here, one may ask the pool staff to turn off the lights. Replica segments of the International Space Station (ISS) and the Soyuz spacecraft are immersed in the pool for use in training astronauts in weightless conditions. It is a cylindrical pool with a diameter of 23m and a depth of 12m. The pool at the Yuri Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonaut Training Center (GCTC) is located near Moscow in the Zvyozdny gorodok, or urban settlement, of Star City in Russia. I had a chance to shoot in three such pools. However, there are pools that are unique in themselves. Such an underwater studio can be made quickly from almost any pool. If there is a possibility to turn off or dim the light in the pool, then the resulting image can be very interesting! To create bubbles, one option is to connect a hose lined with holes to an air-filled balloon, or, if depth permits, put a diver nearby, exhaling bubbles from scuba equipment. So then, you just need to tinker with the bubbles. Catching the model’s reflection is quite easy by tipping the camera angle upward. There are two ways to solve this: Firstly, include in the shot the illuminated surface of the water, catching the reflection of the model and secondly, blow bubbles into the water. I think that the main problem with such a photo is the lack of a feeling of the water. As a result, I got a photo of a model that seemed to be hanging in weightlessness. I bought a big piece of black material, made it a “backdrop” for a photo and installed an underwater light. So, I decided to create a photo studio out of a pool. What does one shoot in a pool? People! However, if it is not to chronicle dive training or swimming competitions, why do we have to include the pool’s tiles in the shot? When doing underwater photography in pools, I have always been irritated by the inherent “feeling of a pool” in the resultant images. Can someone explain why hypofractionation say from 40 to 5 fractions doesn't cause Rad Onc's income to drop from $400k to at least $200k? Not sure how the math works but a drop is surely in order. Condensing 30-40 treatments down to 5 should commensurately decrease pay precipitously. But from hypofractionation, especially for prostate cancer and breast cancer. Decreased need for radiation in the general population. Yes to some extent this does exist in many specialties, but it is undoubtedly the worst in Rad Onc, I don't think anyone could argue with that (except maybe regarding pathology). If we keep graduating 200 Rad Oncs per year, then when I come out of residency in 2028, the job market will be extremely saturated with 15 years of 200 resident class sizes. In addition, the series editors are particularly keen to accept work that takes as its focus issues that draw from the wider Asia Pacific region but that may have relevance more globally, however all proposals that reflect the diversity of contemporary educational research will be considered. This can take the form of reports of new empirical research, critical discussions and/or theoretical pieces. The series will place a premium on manuscripts that critically engage with key educational issues from a position that draws from cultural studies or demonstrates a transdisciplinary approach. This book series seeks to foreground transdisciplinary and cultural studies influenced scholarship with a view to building conversations, ideas and sustainable networks of knowledge that may prove crucial to the ongoing development and relevance of the field of educational studies. With this in mind, the reflexive and critical nature of cultural studies and its focus on the processes and currents that construct our daily lives has made it a central point of reference for many working in the contemporary social sciences and education. It acknowledges that there will be unresolved tensions and that these should be seen as productive. A transdisciplinary approach takes account the uncertainty of knowledge and the complexity of social and cultural issues relevant to education. While this may lead some to focus on smaller and smaller units of analysis in the hope that by understanding the parts we may begin to understand the whole, this book series is premised on the strongly held view that researchers, practitioners and policy makers interested in education will increasingly need to integrate knowledge gained from a range of disciplinary and theoretical sources in order to frame and address these complex issues.

Click on the “Home” tab to see your dashboard. You will arrive at the Data Studio overview page. To log in, you will need a Google account I recommend that you use the same one as your Analytics, Search Console and/or Google Ads account. Once you get comfortable with its features, you can use it to create reports for your clients, coworkers, or management team. Like most Google tools, Data Studio can be difficult to master, but it’s well worth the effort. Finally, we’ll review the advanced options. We’ll start with the basics before moving on to the intermediate functions. In this post I will guide you through the most useful tools in Data Studio. From my point of view, Google Data Studio is a very good option, since it is completely free and accessible to everyone (even if you don’t have data of your own!). But how can we go from having data to understanding, analyzing and visualizing it, knowing that there is a tight budget? There are many visualization tools on the market. And visualizing it? Perhaps this is one of the most valuable skills nowadays. And understanding and analyzing it is a whole different field. By blending foundation over your highlighter, “you can still see the skin’s texture, instead of seeing an obvious highlight line,” she says. But now, Nicole says to first blend a cream or liquid highlighter over your cheekbones, then apply your foundation on top, and then finish with the contour to add dimension. Before, you might have applied your foundation, then blended on some bronzer and highlighter. Just like the concept of contouring has changed, so has the order of the application. Do you put foundation on before or after contouring? The goal with bronzing is to create the illusion of a warmer complexion by blending the product (which, by the way, usually has a sheen or shimmer to it) where the sun would naturally hit your face: temples, nose, around the edges of your face, etc. When using bronzer, think sunlight, not shadows. With contouring, you're creating depth to make the angles of your face pop more, so you need a product that can create the illusion of a shadow (and shadows aren't shimmer). First of all, a contour product is always, always matte. I get it, you've got two products that look like virtually the same thing, but I promise they're not and they each serve a different purpose. What is the difference between bronzer and contour? The old contour and highlighting trends were about changing your whole face to look a certain way, but now it’s about embracing your natural shape and giving yourself realistic-looking depth and dimension.” But now, she says, "Less is more, and we’re embracing natural, dewy skin. “From 2012 to 2018, contouring based on your face shape was seemingly very important,” says LA-based makeup artist Jenna Nicole. The whole point of contouring is to enhance or change the shape of your face with makeup, but its effects don't have to be all that drastic. |
